Papelogía

En este trabajo abordé mi propia identidad individual y familiar a través de la narración creativa. Para este proyecto, investigué dentro de mis agendas desde 1991 hasta 2021 para reflexionar sobre la estructura patriarcal en la que crecí y las intersecciones con mis propias prácticas de libertad utilizadas para crear mi identidad.

No sólo me interesaba cómo se rigen o se nos imponen discursos, leyes, reglas de obediencia e instituciones de sujeción, sino cómo podemos hacernos y gobernarnos a nosotros mismos. Además de artista, soy empresaria del sector de maquinaria agrícola en Uruguay y vivo en el campo con mi familia, tengo tres hijas. Este proyecto es parte de un nueva formación, una conversación conmigo misma desde el pasado hasta ahora:

“Hice una performance arqueológica de mi propia vida con autoridad para rescatar y descartar historias, archivar elementos y sanar traumas”.

Across my work, I address my own individual and family identity through creative storytelling. For this project I researched inside my journals from 1991 to 2021 to reflect on the patriarchal structure I grew up in and the intersections with my own practices of freedom used to create my identity.

I was not only interested in how speeches, laws, rules of obedience and institutions of subjection are governed or imposed on us, but how we can make and govern ourselves. In addition to being an artist, I am a businesswoman in the Uruguayan agricultural equipment sector and I live in the countryside with my three daughters.
This project is a part of this new formation, a conversation with myself from the past to now:

“I performed an archeology of my own life with the authority to rescue and discard stories, archive elements, and heal traumas”.
